For my still life painting I painted a vase with a paintbrush inside and a bow on top. One skill I learned from this was to never use a solid black, its always great to have different shades of color. One art design I used for this painting was proportion and scale, when trying to make something look real you always want to make sure that the size is accurate. What I liked about this painting was how nice my bow and brush came out. What I didn't like about this piece was that my vase and background could have been a lot better.
For my choice painting I decided to try and paint realistic lips. One skill I learned from this was that having a solid background is best for simple paintings. One design element I used for this painting was emphasis, I used a solid background so that my lips would stand out more even though it was very simple What I like about this piece was that I could actually see a painting similar to this being sold in stores. The only negative thing I could say about this piece was that I wish I could have had more time to add more details to it.
My art here are block prints. One skill I learned by doing these was how to put down layers with different colors. One art element I used for this painting was color, I practiced using multiple colors to see which looked best with each other. What I like about this piece was that it reminded me of logos, which is actually something that I want to create in the future for businesses. The only negative thing I could say about this piece was how time consuming it was putting down layers
My art piece today is a painting of a myself. One skill I learned here was how to use shadows and lighting to make myself look more realistic. One art element I used for this painting was value, in order to make myself look more realistic I need to have multiple colors for light and shadows. What I like about this piece was how how great my first painting went, but I would have liked to have had more time on my second one so it could have looked just as great.
My art piece today is a painting of a photo I took of a landscape. One skill I learned here was how to replica something into a refection over water. One design element I learned here was how to use contrast. How this skill was interesting to me was how difficult it was to make the mountains reflection look like what its supposed to while also making sure it still looked like it was still water
This is a painting of 2 cups and 1 bowl. One skill I leaned here was out to use different colors to change an image. One art element used here was color. How I used color was by using different tones to replica the same photo in a new way. How this skill was meaningful was teaching me how to mix and make different colors .
For this drawing i worked on parallel lines. I made the lines point in 2 different directions. One skill I learned from this piece is how to make a mistake then work around it. An element used here was line. This element was interesting to me because when sketching this I didn't really know where i was going with it. I believe to be a artist its okay to take risks, and to do so sometimes you just have to go with the flow.
The design i have created today is based on movement. What it looks like to me is a flow of smoke passing by. One skill that i learned about this drawing was that sometimes creating something simple gives the piece a better look. The design most emphasized here is rhythm and movement, you can see this by how the shapes are thinned out and thickened out through the lines while also flowing to connect in a way. This piece is interesting to me because i loved how everything flows together, it gives the eye something appeal to.
